The Pacific Chamber Orchestra’s Music in the Schools program values the importance of teaching children the connections between themselves, great music and the world around them. We also believe passionately that music education gives children the skills they need for success in the 21st century.
Each year, up to 3000 students experience our Music in the Schools program, where ensembles visit participating schools throughout the year, each visit showcasing a different instrument group found in the orchestra: strings, woodwinds, brass, and percussion. These informative and entertaining mini-concerts are designed to introduce the orchestra’s various instrument families and feature professional musicians from the Pacific Chamber Orchestra
Since its launch, more than 10,000 school children in the TriValley have had the experience of learning about music and music making through these fun and interactive performances.
Different schools throughout the TriValley are chosen each year to participate in this program. If you’d like to bring the Pacific Chamber Orchestra to your school, contact Lawrence Kohl at lkohl@PacificChamberOrchestra.org
